About Benjamin Saxon
In his role as executive director of Excelsior University’s Instructional Design and Development unit, Ben Saxon leads efforts to oversee the strategy and implementation of best practices in online education, and supports the delivery of engaging courses and learning experiences for students.
Saxon is an experienced leader with nearly 25 years of experience in design, management, and leadership in the educational content space. He began his career as a multimedia developer and instructional designer at UNEXT/Cardean University, followed by several years as an instructional designer and design manager at Cengage Learning, followed by a stint as executive director of learning experience design at the educational content development company Six Red Marbles.
In addition to his proven instructional design skills, Saxon is proud of his leadership experience in creating positive cultures that focus on efficiency, accountability, teamwork, and professional development, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues.
