
Mary Berkery, PhD
Mary Berkery, PhD, has served in faculty leaderships role at Excelsior since 2014. She is currently the department chair for Liberal Arts and Degree Completion. She has a PhD and MA from Binghamton University in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality History with emphases in U.S. History and Human Rights, and a BA in U.S. History from Union College. She served as the managing editor of the Journal of Women's History. In addition to women's history, her research interests focus on the first-year experience and student success. She is currently serving in her second three-year term on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition (JFYESIT). Berkery has presented many at national conferences, including the Online Learning Consortium, the National Conference on the First-Year Experience, and the National Conference on Students in Transition.
