Tony Spearman-Leach
Tony Spearman-Leach of Gaithersburg, Maryland, is director of development and philanthropy at the National Academy of Public Administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Regents College in 1992 and a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University in 1995. He has enjoyed a varied professional life that has included careers in business, science, technology, and the arts. He also conducts workshops and trainings for international nonprofit and NGO leaders selected for the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange: the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
Spearman-Leach has been a member of the Alumni Leadership Council at Excelsior University since 2021 and became president of the Excelsior University Alumni Association and its Alumni Leadership Council in July 2023.
He is committed to and has a passion for volunteerism and community involvement. He is a Leadership Montgomery (Maryland) board member and 2018 Leadership Montgomery CORE (Connecting Our Regions Execs) alumnus. His current community leadership service also includes board director of the Mid-Atlantic Federal Credit Union, board director of the Montgomery College Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science & Technology (PIC MC), U.S. Selective Service System Local board member, chair of the Josiah Henson Park & Museum Advisory Board, and board director for Story Tapestries Inc.
