Mind the Gap: A Compassionate Approach to Online Learners’ Mental Health from Mindfulness to Crisis Support
Brooke Morford, full-time faculty for Psychology, and Mary Berkery, department chair for Liberal Arts and Degree Completion, presented at the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) Accelerate Conference in Orlando, Florida, last week. Their presentation was entitled “Mind the Gap: A Compassionate Approach to Online Learners’ Mental Health from Mindfulness to Crisis Support” and covered faculty and curriculum approaches to identifying, empathizing, accommodating, and referring students to appropriate resources for mental health and crisis support.
