Personal Statement for the Inclusion & Belonging Award*
Candidates must provide a personal statement of no more than 1,000 words describing their achievement of one of the three accomplishments listed: 1. Used the principles of belonging, inclusion and equity or Social Justice as a lens to further their own or others’ knowledge or perspective through an academic project or research. 2. Helped others or engaged themself in creating and promoting an equitable and culturally responsive learning environment through coursework and/or co-curricular activities (e.g., internships, practica, symposia or competition participation). 3. Led efforts that enhanced belonging, inclusion, and equity or social justice in their classroom, organization or community while studying at Excelsior University.
