Christopher Alan Hirschler

Christopher Alan Hirschler, of Sheffield, Ohio, is the dean of the Health and Wellness Sciences Division at Lorain County Community College (LCCC), in Elyria, Ohio. Hirschler became the full-time, permanent dean of the Health and Wellness Sciences Division at LCCC in July 2022 and is passionate about student success and encouraging alums to give back to their institution. He has been involved in alum activities at numerous institutions and is excited to help Excelsior University’s Alumni Leadership Council achieve its goals. Hirschler is the president of A Better Life Guatemala and is a member of the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing Inc. He is the author of various publications, including “Review of Health Professional as Educator: Principles of Teaching and Learning” (second edition), “Perceptions of Childhood Obesity in Parents of Preschool-Aged Children,” “Nursing homes: Good intentions, sad realities,” “How ‘Sustainable’ Universities Can Decrease the Carbon Footprint of Study Abroad Programs,” and “Contemplating Collapse: The Importance of Making Green Resolutions.” In addition to his 1997 Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from Excelsior University (then Regents College), he holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from SUNY Brockport and a Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Education from Cleveland State University.
