Nicole Helstowski
Nicole Helstowski, MSN, RN, NE-BC is a faculty program director at Excelsior College in the Associate degree nursing program. She designs curriculum and coordinates the delivery of content for various courses throughout the associate degree nursing program. Nicole began her nursing career as a patient care technician on a cardiac unit, and has more than 18 years of experience as a registered nurse in critical care and obstetrics nursing. She has worked in several leadership positions in the acute care hospital setting including Nurse Manager, Critical Care Clinical Director, and Administrative Director of Quality. Nicole has earned the credentials as Nurse Executive-Board Certified from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also has experience as a Mass Excellence State Baldrige Examiner. Five years ago, Nicole began teaching adjunct clinical and simulation courses at a local community college in the associates degree nursing program before transitioning to full-time employment at Excelsior College.
Nicole is currently enrolled in Walden University’s PhD in Nursing Education program. She has a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management from Walden University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences, and an Associate in Applied Science in Nursing from Adirondack Community College.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), National League for Nursing, Therapeutic Touch International Association, and she is the Membership and Mentoring Committee chairperson for Tau Kappa At-Large Chapter of STTI. Nicole is also a member of the College Curriculum Council at Excelsior College.
