Robin Dewald PhD, RN, CNE is a Faculty Program Director with Excelsior College’s Graduate Nursing program. She has been with the college since May 3, 2010, overseeing BS and MS nursing courses. In addition to her nursing responsibilities, Dr. Dewald works as the mentor for all newly hired course instructors at the college. Prior to working with Excelsior College, she worked as a clinical nurse in pediatric emergency and ICU, quality assurance, and taught in the face-to-face classroom and clinical learning environments, as well as online. Dr. Dewald graduated from Capella University, with A PhD in Education, Russell Sage College with a MS in Nursing Education, and from The Ohio State University with her BSN. Dr. Dewald has published some of her work related to her doctoral dissertation, “Teaching Strategies that Promote Cultural Sensitivity in Nursing Education”, and has presented her work related to the power of presence in online education, mentoring, using educational technologies, the ways of knowing, Just Culture, mentoring, and assessment of learning with a variety of organizations.
