The Value and Meaning of Volunteering and Community Engagement

April 10 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

three raised hands

Are you interested in volunteering but something holds you back? If so, you’re not alone. Our panel discussion explores the value and meaning of volunteering, redefining volunteerism as an opportunity to do good while pursuing our passions, goals, and skills. Participants in this discussion include Rich Hurley, assistant principal, Troy High School; Christan Miller, co-chair, Excelsior University Community Engagement Group; Kim Phelan, senior vice president and senior relationship manager at M&T Bank; and Paul Stewart, founder, Underground Railroad Education Center. Pam Jimenez and Daniel Pascoe Aguilar of Excelsior University’s Center for Social Justice will moderate the discussion.
