The AD is a member of the SON leadership team and reports to the Dean of Nursing; leading a team of both on-site and remote Nursing faculty and academic administrative staff. Minimum on campus, in person presence is expected for major events, faculty retreats and graduation. The remainder of full time expectation may be spent virtually from a home office with reliable internet connection. When the AD is working remotely, they are expected to be available during business hours, actively participate in virtual meetings, and respond to emails/calls in a timely manner.
This position is based out of the university's home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to perform the essential functions of this job (e.g., Laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the Dean and SON leadership to identify, prioritize, and lead strategic initiatives within the School, including but not limited to the establishment of annual goals and support to the budgetary process.
- Works on special projects within the School as they arise and develops evaluation plans to determine implementation fidelity and success
- Applies project management expertise to long-range initiatives in SON.
- Established record of excellence in teaching.
- Ability to organize and lead groups of faculty.
- Established record of adherence to academic standards and commitment academic excellence
- Assessment of faculty instruction, successful track record in Faculty development and coaching.
- Administrative experience at the level of department chair, associate dean or equivalent.
- Experience in undergraduate pre-licensure nursing education, preferably at the associate degree level.
- Experience with nursing programmatic accreditation.
- Experience with NCLEX success.
- Earned doctorate, preferably in nursing, required.
- Master of science with major in nursing.
- Established record of excellence in teaching.
- Ability to organize and lead groups of faculty.
- Established record of adherence to academic standards and commitment academic excellence
- Assessment of faculty instruction, successful track record in Faculty development and coaching.
- Administrative experience at the level of department chair, associate dean or equivalent.
- Experience in undergraduate pre-licensure nursing education, preferably at the associate degree level.
- Experience with nursing programmatic accreditation.
- Experience with NCLEX success.
- Distinguished record of interprofessional collaboration and scholarship.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with accrediting agencies, preferably nursing education accreditors, including leading degree programs through successful site visits.
- A creative thinker who is capable of evaluating current business processes and providing innovative solutions that increase quality and efficiency.
- Strong background in data analytics and comfort with ambiguity and change.
- Experience supervising and leading teams.
- Strong leader with experience coordinating work across administrative and academic departments, preferably within a college or university.
- Ability to work with diverse constituencies and staff.
